MORE INFORMATION,
BETTER DECISIONS
What is CSE?
Our CSE (Communication Skills Evaluation) is a service that evaluates communication skills in English. It provides an online and fully interpersonal diagnostic to determine a person’s current and functional communicational level in that language. It is not only about what you know, but how you develop it in real communication.
The evaluation focuses on the actual effectiveness of communication: organization of ideas, presentation of topics, and the development of explanations. It also analyzes clarity, production, fluency, and consistency in relation to the academic level declared according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1–C2). This process helps answer questions such as: Can the person conduct a meeting in English? Can they negotiate with international clients? Can they persuade a client by clearly presenting ideas?
Who is it designed for?
It is designed for companies and Human Resources departments involved in recruitment processes or seeking to identify training needs. It is also useful for individuals who want to support an English certification obtained years ago by adding a current, practical, and functional communication evaluation.
What does it consist of?
The report results from an evaluation that integrates the four essential skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking) through different communicational instances oriented to the participant’s professional context: Answer, Interact, Explain, Express, and Register. Throughout the process, an interlocutor guides and interacts with the participant.
The topics may be general or, if requested by a company, adapted to a specific professional or academic field (hospitality, commercial areas, management, administration, sales, customer service, tourism, biology, psychology, history, among others).
Valid for 2 years
Basic 1 – 50%: Limited comprehension and production. The person can communicate simple ideas in highly predictable contexts, with support and frequent difficulties in accuracy and fluency.
Functional 50–80%: Communicates effectively in common situations. Achieves understandable exchanges, although with limitations in complexity, vocabulary, and accuracy.
Solid 80–96%: Clear, consistent, and autonomous communication. Handles a variety of contexts, organizes ideas coherently, and maintains fluent interactions, with minor errors that do not affect meaning.
Precise 96–100%: Precise, flexible, and strategic communication. Adapts to the context, the interlocutor, and the purpose, using the language with a high degree of control and naturalness.
This service is based on the international standards of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, ensuring technical rigor, fairness, and confidentiality in every process.

The participant will receive a PDF report detailing their communicational performance in percentages in the following aspects:
-
Communication Achievement: The ability to fulfill and accomplish the communication objectives of different situations.
-
Linguistic Resources: the appropriate use of vocabulary, grammar, and structures corresponding to the stated level in every communicative instance.
-
Discourse Management: the ability to organize and articulate ideas with coherence, clarity, and fluency from beginning to end.
-
Content Development: the competence to provide relevant and well-structured information.

How much does it cost?
It currently costs USD 79 with general topics and USD 99 with topics related to the evaluated person’s job role.
What should the person know before the assessment?
It is recommended to be familiar with the parts of the assessment and the structure of each exercise. For example, in Part 1 (ANSWER), responses may not exceed 45 seconds. You may review sample evaluations to learn more. However, there is no need for concern: an interlocutor will always be present to interact and explain each task. The activities may also be adapted to the participant’s professional field.
Is there a minimum level?
The exam is communicational, not limited to structures and vocabulary associated with specific levels. We have observed individuals with a C1 level who struggle to sustain effective communication, and individuals with a B1 level who communicate effectively despite limitations in advanced vocabulary.
It is recommended to have prior exposure to texts on a variety of general and academic topics, the ability to present ideas clearly and in an organized manner (the Minto Pyramid is recommended), and listening experience in lectures, everyday conversations, and technical explanations.
How long does it take?
The Communication Skills Evaluation (CSE) is conducted in a single guided session lasting approximately one hour. The participant actively engages in different communicative tasks in English. Instructions are presented sequentially and clearly, with the interlocutor guiding the participant throughout the process. Each section has defined estimated times: Part 1 ANSWER (7–8 minutes); Part 2 INTERACT (10–13 minutes); Part 3 EXPLAIN (8–11 minutes); Part 4 EXPRESS (8–12 minutes); Part 5 REGISTER (4–6 minutes).
How long does it take to receive the results?
The final report is delivered within approximately one week after the assessment, ensuring a rigorous analysis and professional feedback on the participant’s communicational performance.
What is the validity of the results report?
The CSE report has diagnostic and functional validity. It describes the person’s communicational performance level at the time of the assessment and may be used as supporting input in recruitment, training, professional development, or internal evaluation processes within organizational contexts.
Can I use the report in a professional or institutional process?
Yes. The report is designed to be used by companies, consulting firms, educational institutions, and professionals as a decision-support tool related to communication in English.
Is the report equivalent to an official language certification?
No. The CSE report does not replace formal academic language certifications. Its purpose is to evaluate the current communicational use of English, not to certify an academic level.
What happens if I experience a technical problem during the assessment?
In the event of technical issues (connectivity, audio, or video), the assessment may be paused or rescheduled to ensure appropriate and fair conditions for the participant.
